Sierra LeoneResearch and Evidence Network Join

Evidence platforms

Most new networks spend years building systems before they can work at scale. Our members start with two platforms already in place.

The two platforms

Sabi Salone

"Sabi" is Krio for to know

Sierra Leone's evidence library: national laws and policies, development project reports and evaluations, government surveys and unpublished research, in one place. Ask a question and get an answer linked to its sources. Around 2,000 users, including about 200 civil servants.

Owned by the Institute for Development (IfD) and made available to the Network. sabisalone.tech

Sabi Core

Living evidence synthesis

Teams screen and extract studies together, choose what to share, and keep reviews up to date as new evidence appears, showing decision makers both the answer and how certain it is.

Built by IfD Tech, which provides access to the Network's members. sabicore.tech

A living evidence loop

Sabi Core keeps evidence up to date as new studies and reports arrive, and every finding stays linked to its sources.

Ingest
Peer-reviewed research, grey literature, evaluations, reports, policies and datasets.
Structure
Tagged by topic, geography, population, intervention and evidence type.
Connect
A knowledge graph linking studies, topics and the relationships between them.
Synthesise
Systematic review workflows, assisted synthesis or each organisation's own methods.
Validate
Expert review, peer review, editorial oversight or community validation.
Deliver
Evidence hubs, question interfaces, dashboards, policy briefs and APIs.
Update
New evidence and feedback flow back in, and the loop runs again.
First proposed specialist centre

Child and Adolescent Research Centre

Bringing researchers, policy makers and practitioners together around the health, education and wellbeing of Sierra Leone's children and young people, under the Network's oversight.
