Sierra LeoneResearch and Evidence Network Join

Everyone who produces, uses or carries evidence

Our members include the people who create evidence, the people who act on it, and the organisations that carry it between them.

Three kinds of member

The Network as one web of membersThree clusters of members: producers on the left, intermediaries in the middle and users on the right. Lines inside each cluster join its members; lines between clusters show evidence travelling between them, mostly through the intermediaries.ProducersIntermediariesUsers

Producers

create evidence

Universities, research institutes, independent researchers and the Sierra Leonean diaspora.

Intermediaries

carry it between

Civil society, the media, professional bodies and community organisations.

Users

decide and deliver

Ministries, agencies, Parliament, district authorities and practitioners delivering services.

Open to individuals and organisations

Fees that never exclude

Fees will be tiered by ability to pay, with waivers so that cost never excludes students, community organisations or researchers with limited means.

Wherever you are based

Members can take part in meetings and votes remotely, whether they are in Freetown, the provinces or the diaspora.

A vote in how it is run

Members elect the board at the annual general meeting, including directors first appointed during the founding period.

Government at the table, not in charge

Government bodies and Parliament engage as members, partners or observers, not as directors, so the Network's independence stays visible.
